[pox-dev] Flow Based Distributed Firewall Prototype

Hi everyone!
I'm currently doing my undergraduate thesis on SDN and my topic involves
the development of a flow based distributed firewall for such a network.
The reason for this is that I wanted to take advantage of SDN's decoupling
of the control layer and physical layer to centralize the control of all
firewalls within a network. Aside from this, all switches can act as
firewalls themselves and having it flow based increases the overall speed
of the packet filtering. With all the benefits that SDN has to offer, this
kind of firewall would be more powerful and convenient as compared to the
physical, edge-based firewall that is common today.
I've already made a working prototype of the firewall however, my adviser
and I think that it would be best if I could get a few comments or input
from the pox-dev community regarding this project especially with how I
tested it and the design of the prototype itself.
For that purpose, I created a repository for my project with all the files
needed to run my simple prototype and I've also outlined how to replicate
the results I had:
https://github.com/CipherGit/SDN-Distributed-Firewall
My full paper for this is still in its draft stages so I'll upload it once
I've finalized most the details. For now, I hope you guys would take the
time to explore my work so far and any comments would be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much!
